Hydro Systems Employee Wins Award

Peggy Kirk, VP Customer Service, receives Community Project Award

Program: Stopping the Abuse Before It Ever Starts

On March 11, 2014, the Clermont Chamber of Commerce Foundation held an Awards Banquet for people making a positive impact in the community. Hydro Systems’ is proud of Peggy Kirk, who received the Community Project Award with her team for their valiant community service efforts.

In 2013, a group of Clermont County business people within the Clermont County LEAD class embarked on a seemingly impossible goal of stopping child abuse.

Envisioned by Mary Eisnaugle with Jeannie Helsel, Peggy Kirk, Steve Cutforth, Gail Koford, Connie Taggart, Jeff Bachman, Lauren Carmean, Jeff Fielman, Shawna Dunn and Rachel Markovic, they wanted to find a way to stop future child abuse by getting into Clermont County high schools to teach “stop and think” skills to teens before they have children of their own.

The group presented the program to four Clermont County high schools in 2013, with the help of local police and social services. All four schools have invited them back and they are now enthusiastically planning to present the program to every Clermont County high school in 2014.

We salute the entire team for their efforts in the community!
